ART LEAGUE OF ALEXANDRIA, VA - Smith exhibited work in their monthly juried shows from 2002
through 2007 and won several awards over that period. Smith qualified as a member of the Art
League Bin Gallery from 2003 through 2007.
OLNEY ART ASSOCIATION - Smith became a juried member of this organization in 2002. She regularly
exhibited and won numerous awards in their annual juried art show. She has also served as an elected
officer.
POTOMAC VALLEY WATERCOLORISTS - Smith was juried into this group in 2003. Members are
accepted from Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and Pennsylvania, and she has participated in
numerous shows and events.
BALTIMORE WATERCOLOR SOCIETY - Smith was juried into this organization in 2006. This
organization sponsors the annual Mid-Atlantic exhibition and she has exhibited work in that
showroom from 2004 to present.
NATIONAL SOCIETY OF PAINTERS IN CASEIN AND ACRYLIC - Exhibited work in their yearly
juried show at the Salmagundi Club in New York City from 2004-2006.
MONTGOMERY ART ASSOCIATION - Smith has exhibited and sold work in the annual “Paint the Town”
show from 2006 to present and has won numerous awards. MAA also acquired a gallery from
2011 through 2015, where Smith regularly exhibited work throughout that time. She has also served
as an elected officer for 2 terms.
GALLERY 209 - Smith is a participating member of this cooperative gallery of 12 artists.
Julie Smith is a member of a small group of local artists - the Pate Painters - and has participated in all
collaborative exhibitions, including a month-long exhibit at Gallery B in Bethesda, MD.
